Jubilee on a Saturday!!

Welcome to the Jubilee Quilt project blog. Thanks so much Barb for moving forward with it!!
I imagine we will have a few housekeeping rules, but I didn't want to start with that.

I don't feel like this is much of a post to get started but I am still so excited! Here are the main colors my Jubilee quilt will have.
I have more of the red but it wasn't in the same room and I'm pretty sure that green strip will not be enough! Backordered....argh!!!
I pulled out a few other solid greens I have and they are all too blue. The piece of poison green print is the color I am looking for. I have never made a quilt with mostly solids, so my Jubilee challenge begins.
The center of my medallion will start with this. It is going to be red and green and smaller then I am used to working with.
I can't wait to hear what everyone has in mind for their special quilt made especially for you, by you..

  1. Hooray!
We're up and on our way -
I love these colors and can't wait to see what develops Lori!
I also can't wait to see what everyone else starts!

  2. Lori and Barb, thanks so much for doing this!
    It's going to be fun!
Great start Lori... I love those colors together!

  3. Woohoo! This is going to be so fun! And I love those fabrics, Lori!

  4. I have always heard that working with solid colors is a bit harder if you are doing applique. Harder to hide the stitches. But then, I don't know if you will be doing applique. Poison green is definitely what you need.

  5. Love your colors!
This should be a fun adventure.
Thanks for the impetus...I haven't decided which quilt I am going to do but I will decide soon.
I will actually turn 51 in I am still in my 50th it still sorta counts! :)

  6. Wow, love these colours Lori ! Actually I hesitate between exactly the same combination and another with repro fabrics :)

  7. this is going to be awesome~!!~

  8. Hmmmm... I suspect another WONDERFUL quilt to be, here ! ;>)
Gorgeous colors (LOVE red and green quilts), great pattern (from what I can see on your design sheet)... WOW, can you imagine our show & tell, in a few months (years) ? ;>)
Here I go again hesitating now : baskets? or else ? (I so much love 2 colors quilts, as well) Pfff.... this is a never-ending story !

So grateful for your initiative, Lori !

  9. Ok out a quilty girlfriend! What fabrics are your red, that green strip and the cheddar??? I'm having a hard time in my area finding the right colors with enough yardage, so I'm going to have to order online.

Thanks so much. I really like your color choices there and am anxious to see what you will be creating!!
