Five stars finished.

As you can see I've made some progress.  Five blocks finished and the strings done for the other four blocks.  I love sewing the strings together but I'm not enjoying the triangle set in seams.  I'm in danger of losing some of my points!  Do you think I can cover them up with the quilting?hahaha.  I have plenty of strings left over for more quilts in the future.  There are lots of cats and fun things in my stars.  Definitely not a serious quilt.

I was going to sew some sashing between the blocks I'm not sure about a colour or style yet.  Maybe with stars at the cornerstones.  I've got a few decisions to make before I can go forward.  Any
suggestions?

    I like your idea of little, scrappy stars as cornerstones. Your stars really pop off the black background. Great start!

    This is going to be such a fun quilt! I seem to remember a scrappy star quilt similiar to this on an Australian blog. Will look around and see how she set her stars. I think I like it without sashing but would add a border with smaller scrappy stars in the cornerstones.

    Wonderful! I wouldn't worry about the cut off points - we ooh and aah over antique quilts with all kinds of wonky stitching. Sounds like you are having fun with this - well except for the Y seams - and that's the whole point! No suggestions for sashing - something will come to you and if not - spend an afternoon leafing through your books and magazines. I expect you'll get so many ideas it will be hard to choose!

    Oh, I'm just loving this quilt! The background for these stars is awesome, too. I think your idea of little scrappy stars as cornerstones is perfect!

    what a FUN quilt this is turning into~!
    little scrappy stars might make good cornerstones but i think Maureen has good advice when she suggests settling in with a few good books and magazines . . . you're bound to find several ideas to choose from.

    Your string stars are so fun....all the different fabrics. My first thought for sashing was turquoise but I am sure you will come up with something that is just right. I don't think I would enjoy the Y-seams either. :)
