Ready for quilting! Woot!

It's been a long time coming, but I finally finished piecing the back of my Jubilee!  Woot!

The front was finished in record time, but I agonized over the back for nearly a year and a half!  Deciding to enter it into the Vermont Quilt Festival was the push I needed to figure it out!  And I'm so happy with it now!

The Front.....

and the Back.....

I love how the back turned out.  The orange section with the milk in it is 'made fabric' and was a total blast to put together.  And I'm loving the wavy line between the two sections.

My plan is to embroider the story of the quilt along the wavy line in the orange section with white floss (in tiny little letters!).  It will become the label for the quilt!

Now I just need to get busy with the quilting (which I haven't decided on yet!)!  LOL

Two down, one to go

Today I hit a milestone, two spools of quilting thread in my Jubilee quilt.
I should have known it would take a lot,
but even for me, this is a lot of hand quilting.
To read my complete post, see www.nanagirlquilts.blogspot.com.
I'm still on target to finish this, it's only taken me two years!!!
Thanks for stopping by,
Karen

Happy New Year!

It seems like I've been quilting on my Jubilee quilt forever.   I've almost finished the center of my quilt.  Hooray~

I've "super sized" the photos so you can see the quilting better.

Here is the center flower.  I still need to quilt inside the leaves.  I decided to add this thinking it was a little too puffy.

Here you can see how they will look.  What do you think?  better?

Here is the back of the quilt.  I really like looking at this side too.  You can see the difference in the leaves here.

Hope you are all staying warm (or cool for our Aussie friends) and enjoying quilting time.

My goal is to finish this quilt for my birthday in June.  I'll be 52 but a lot has happened in my life since turning 50.  When making a quilt like this, you have to enjoy the process and I have.

Happy 2014

All the Little Stitches

I have finally finished quilting the 1 1/2" grid on Jubilee Tribute - yay!!!
And I've almost finished one corner of the 1/2" grid - happy dance :)!
You can see the complete blog post on www.nanagirlquilts.blogspot.com.
Thanks for letting me share.  I feel like the tortoise, slow and steady will hopefully get me to the finish line.

Back to Work

Hello!

Look what the cat dragged out.  Fall means time to get back to the hand quilting on my Jubilee quilt.

I like to spray off the blue markings as I go.  Here is the quilt drying and relaxing on a recliner.

I have a long way to go, but I'm really enjoying hand quilting on it again.  My goal is to finish it before my 52 birthday in June.  The move to CT really put me behind on this one.

Coco looks totally bored with the whole thing as usual.

How is your project going?
