Happy New Year!

It seems like I've been quilting on my Jubilee quilt forever.   I've almost finished the center of my quilt.  Hooray~

I've "super sized" the photos so you can see the quilting better.

Here is the center flower.  I still need to quilt inside the leaves.  I decided to add this thinking it was a little too puffy.

Here you can see how they will look.  What do you think?  better?

Here is the back of the quilt.  I really like looking at this side too.  You can see the difference in the leaves here.

Hope you are all staying warm (or cool for our Aussie friends) and enjoying quilting time.

My goal is to finish this quilt for my birthday in June.  I'll be 52 but a lot has happened in my life since turning 50.  When making a quilt like this, you have to enjoy the process and I have.

Happy 2014

  1. Gorgeous! Yes, I love the addition of the quilting on the leaves. You are well on your way to being done by June. You are inspiring me to get a quilt top basted for some hand quilting. Nothing like it! I need to get going for playtime outside. It is 9 degrees here in Virginia with wind chill below 0. I don't think I've ever experienced such cold weather.

  10. Hi Karen. I hopped over from Fabric Therapy with Teresa. Goodness gracious, girl, the two of you do some awesome work. Can we say intimidating here? Especially for somebody like me who just doesn't have (or hasn't developed) the patience to learn how to hand quilt. Such beautiful work.

  12. I love that you used a blue marker for the quilt marking, did you test it first? Some day I will get the courage to use the blue to mark my quilt top. Thanks for the encouragement. The hand quilting is lovely, front and back. Yes the back of your stunning quilt is fab. I enjoyed watching this quilt progress. What a beauty.
