Given that my Jubilee year finishes in a couple of months, I decided it was time to get a wriggle on! I've finished the border - first border? - by making them in 9-patch type blocks which will be joined together with the grey/white spot squares and squared up with triangles in the same fabric.....
What do you think? I'm thinking there needs to be about 1,000 more leaves on the centre block! Not sure what to do after it's all together....another border? Any suggestions gratefully received!
I've just noticed that the Kaffe fabric centre top block is in upside down....grrr!
Wishing you all a very merry Christmas and a happy new year filled with quilts and stitching!

Is it just me, or is the picture not showing up? I'll try rebooting.
ReplyDeleteI'm not seeing the picture either.
ReplyDeleteSorry everyone, I've tried 3 times to get the picture up and blogger is not being helpful!! Will try again after a cup of soothing tea........ (It took 4 goes to even get a post going - totally frustrated!)
ReplyDeleteI like what I am seeing so far. The grey squares with the Kaffe fabrics look great. Your center block with the leaves look fun. I am trying to imagine your border. What you have described sounds good - but I am more of a visual person. Sorry, kinda hafta see a drawing or something. Not much help there!
ReplyDeleteGuess I like what I see so far! :)

Thanks Judy, thanks for the comment. I'll keep plugging on! Cheers, Meredithe.
DeleteBeautiful! Love your fabrics. This could stand as is and be beautiful when it's all put together and quilted. I'm no help with ideas for more borders. The possibilities are endless. That is why my jubilee quilt is still just one feathered star block and I'm almost 52 years old!
ReplyDeleteHi Maureen, thanks for your encouragement? I'll try auditioning some fabrics for a border. You could always frame your feathered star!!!
ReplyDeleteJust checked back.....I like it a lot! And yeah.....more leaves would be awesome! The fabrics are so fun! Are you really needing a border? How big did you want this to be? I like it just as is, if that means anything to anyone! lol
ReplyDeleteThanks Regan, I spent Christmas Eve day cutting more leaves so they're ready to start stitching! Thanks for your thoughts!
DeleteI love it just as it is too. How about floating it on some of your grey fabric used for the joiner squares (only about half the width of your block and have a nice bright binding to frame it off.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lynne, appreciate these suggestions......more food for thought!!
DeleteLooks great. What fun and happy fabrics. I agree more leaves in the center would be lovely. I look forward to see what you do with the border. The grey setting fabric works so well with the Kaffes - great choice.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting.
Merry Christmas!!
Thanks Barb, more leaves are coming and I now have lots of suggestions to mull over .....!!
